2010 / 2011 for films

I thought I'd start this blog up to review and talk about films throughout the year of 2011. I'm 16 years old, from the UK and have a keen interest in films and future releases at the cinema.
I'm extremely excited for the year ahead considering 2010 was fantastic for films. With school and exams I find it hard to get to the cinema often, but this year I saw approximately 45 films at the cinema, some of which I saw again up to 4 times, but unfortunately I cannot see all the best releases due to them not being released at my local cinema, whether it's rated an 18 (I rarely even get into 15s, I have to have my ID) and whether or not I can just get there.
I'm really bad and fussy when it comes to making lists, but out of the films I saw at the cinema, I have made my top 10 best films from 2010:
  1. Inception
  2. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
  3. Kick Ass
  4. The Social Network
  5. Toy Story 3
  6. Monsters
  7. Cemetery Junction
  8. Up In The Air
  9. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1
  10. Shutter Island
Worthy mentions are, The Lovely Bones, Whip It, Hot Tub Time Machine (endless fun honestly), Buried and Despicable Me.
If I had to vote for the worst hour and 45 minutes of my life at the cinema, I'd vote: Skyline. Avoid at all costs.

I like to watch a lot of trailers and find out about future films, so with that I would like to do another list of the top films I'm excited to see in 2011. (Bare in mind, these are only the ones I know of- most of which are at the beginning half of the year)

First off the films which have been released in the US but not in the UK yet that I'm dying to see.
  • Black Swan
  • 127 Hour
  • Tangled
Here are the other films I'm excited for 2011:
  • Paul
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2
  • Never Let Me Go
  • Green Lantern
  • Sucker Punch
  • The Adjustment Bureau
  • X-men: First Class
  • Thor
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strangers Tide
No doubt 80% of these may not be very good, but as I always say - you've got to see the bad films to see the good ones. (Which I've probably stolen from somewhere and my memory is awful)

I don't know who I'm talking to here, I don't think many people will end up reading this because you might aswell read professional reviews like Empire, Total Film, listen to James King or so on..but sometimes their reviews are very long and although excellent, sometimes you just want to know whether or not you should see it or not. So that's why, if anyone does read this, this is how I'm going to review films.

For each review I'll rate it out of 5 Stars
I think it's a bit self-explanatory what I mean by each one but just to be clear:

- Rubbish / don't waste your time in seeing it

- Passes as a film / fairly watchable / better than rubbish / only see it if you have a keen interest in story, actors, directors etc..

- Good / watchable / worthy

- Excellent / don't turn it away /

- Do not miss / the reason I adore cinema / a must see.

I'll give my verdict  on each film, explain the story and give links to trailers and so on too.
Knowing me, I might end up posting about other film news too, maybe my thoughts on who wins the Oscars, new trailers and official photos or just mentioned of films I watch on TV or DVD.

Hope I don't annoy anyone but I hope people read this,
or more than anything I hope I remember to use this often!
